Director of Chaplaincy Services Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, the Director of Chaplaincy is a vital member of our team, responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and managing Chaplaincy Services to meet the spiritual and religious needs of patients, families, staff, and the community. This role ensures timely, compassionate, and culturally sensitive spiritual care aligned with the hospital’s mission, ICARE values, and strategic goals. Duties of a Director of Chaplaincy may include the following but are not limited to: · Leadership & Administration · Develop, plan and implement policies and procedures for chaplaincy care. · Oversee departmental budget, staffing, and resource management. · Recruit, orient, educate, supervise, and evaluate chaplaincy staff, interns, and volunteers. · Align chaplaincy services with hospital strategic initiatives and quality goals. · Provides spiritual care to patients, families, and staff during crises, end-of-life situations, and routine care. · Participate in on-call rotation for emergency spiritual support. · Ensure timely response to chaplaincy requests. · Manages chaplaincy orientation and education for organization and liaises wi...
