Job description

Essential Job Functions: - Maintenance Oversight & Decision Authority - Review, evaluate, and approve maintenance and repair quotes for tractors, trailers, and ancillary equipment. - Issue purchase orders (POs) and determine whether to proceed with repairs based on cost, urgency, equipment condition, and operational impact. - Prioritize maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and minimize service disruptions. - Ensure all repairs meet DOT, FMCSA, and internal safety standards. - Vendor & Cost Management - Develop, negotiate, and manage corporate maintenance and repair agreements with vendors, dealerships, and service providers. - Establish preferred vendor programs and national or regional service agreements to secure discounted pricing and favorable terms. - Evaluate vendor performance based on cost, turnaround time, quality of work, and compliance. - Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability. - Fleet & Asset Management - Oversee preventive maintenance programs for tractors and trailers to reduce breakdowns and unplanned repairs. - Track maintenance history, warranty coverage, and lifecycle costs for all fleet assets. -...
