Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

The role: We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team within our Offshore Energy product market group. Based at our offices in Newcastle upon Tyne, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, technical leadership and successful delivery of bespoke Engineering projects across a variety of markets including Cablelay, Pipelay, Handling Systems and Subsea Technology. You will be responsible for: Taking ownership as the design authority and provide technical leadership of a team of Engineers in the successful delivery of projects, within the specified time, budget, to the specification and the required quality standards. Providing supervision to a team of Engineers including coaching, mentoring, providing direction and intervention when required Ensuring that the Engineering project team clearly understand their responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle (concept through to installation), taking ownership to make key decisions, call reviews when required and approval of design documentation within the design team Promoting ownership to the Engineering team, ensuring there is a focus on delivery and com...
