Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor

Description JOB SUMMARY: Within the context of a client and family-centred framework and continuum based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision and values of the organization, including Indigenous Cultural Safety, cultural humility and anti-racism principles, the Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor provides a specialized counselling service to assist clients with disabilities to explore vocational potential and address barriers to employment. Duties include receiving referrals, screening and assessing clients' vocational potential, counselling and guiding clients in the selection of sustainable occupational goals, developing vocational plans, assisting with accessing resources for job finding or training, including liaising with sponsorship agencies and other service providers, contacting insurers and previous employers to assist with return to work, and monitoring client progress.
