JOB SUMMARY: Assistant Mechanical Designer shall work in a team environment and under the directive of a lead Designer to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely Mechanical system models meeting McKenney’s drafting standards and fully coordinated with the architectural & structural elements of the building and the other building trades (sprinkler, ductwork, piping, etc.). An Assistant Mechanical Designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the construction team. The designer will report to the Lead Designer & Production supervisor and be responsible for interacting with the fabrication supervisor, detailers, project managers, project engineers, and field foreman. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Utilize McKenney’s CAD standards to create models consistent with company and project requirements. - Accurately model systems in compliance with project plans, project specifications, and code requirements for the purposes of producing fabrication documents (spool sheets and drawings) from the model. - Coordinate all systems with ductwork, mechanical equipment, other trades, and architectural and structural elements of the building...
