Job Title: Lead Interpreter Department: Communication Service Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 hrs/week: Schedule: Day shift SUMMARY: To facilitate communication between health care providers and non-English speaking patients, helping to advocate for their needs at each point along the care continuum. Partner to oversee all training and mentoring for all spoken language Interpreters in partnership the Manager. Support daily scheduling process to ensure the right type of Interpretation support is present at all patient appointments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpretation & Patient Support : Provide real-time interpretation for clinical and non-clinical interactions, prioritize and respond to requests (including emergency and on-call needs), and determine appropriate interpretation methods. Training & Mentorship : Lead onboarding and training for new spoken language team members, support ongoing mentoring, and ensure readiness for effective interpretation services.
