Upper School English Teacher

Job description

Head-Royce School is seeking a culturally responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic educator to join our English department. We seek teachers who are not only excited by the content they teach, but who are also actively engaged in evolving their classroom pedagogy. We want teachers who are excited to join our community of learners and collaborate with us on meeting our Strategic Plan goals and living our mission. Head-Royce teachers also serve as advisors and club sponsors and participate in the life of the community. We seek applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in anti-racist pedagogy, an understanding of adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with students at this specific age level. Skills: Expertise in teaching English (writing, reading, critical thinking) and / or Humanities. Collaborative, flexible colleague with Upper School teaching experience, with the ability to teach the full range of learners from grades 9 through 12.
