Job description

Position Summary: Medical Assistant has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the clinic environment. Displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. Functions under the direct supervision and authority of the nurse or provider when performing clinical tasks during patient care. Reports to the nurse manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation to the area's policies and procedures. Must demonstrate competency in skills related to the performance of patient care. Demonstrates problem- solving skills as they relate to patient care. Minimum Qualifications: Required - High school diploma or equivalent. - Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Medical Assistant role may be considered. - Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association.
