Job Description VMEC BCM Product Software DRE – Expanded Role Description The following outlines the expanded roles and responsibilities of the Product and Program Software Design Release Engineers (DREs) supporting the Body Control Module (BCM) within VMEC at General Motors. These roles are essential for ensuring the quality, calibration alignment, and program delivery of software features for current and future vehicle programs. Each position serves a distinct function within the development and execution lifecycle. The VMEC BCM Product Software DRE is explicitly a software-focused role. This position owns the embedded software behavior, quality, and release flow for BCM/ELM and related body-domain controllers. Mechanical and hardware ownership remains with other DRE roles; this role is dedicated to software content, software issues, and software-driven customer behavior.
