Responsibilities : Under the supervision of the Residential Services Coordinator, Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled, assists in the personal care and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness residing in a residential setting or supported independent living setting. Candidate is responsible for implementation of skill acquisition, understanding the stages of change and substance use disorders as it relates to each individual’s plan of service, with a goal of assisting individuals to be as independent as possible. Acts as a resource and referral for residents to meet their needs. Typical duties: support mental illness symptoms management, training and assisting residents in daily living skills such as medication management; personal care; interpersonal communication skills; cleaning; meal preparation and laundry; de-escalations skills; maintaining required documentation; and assisting residents in participation in community activities.
