The Salvation Army Family Haven Shelter located in St. Louis, MO, is looking for a Mental Health Counselor. This individual will provide mental health and substance abuse assessment, intervention, treatment planning, counseling and referrals for veterans, clients and their families. This position will provide individual, group and family counseling and prevention services. Educate staff and residents on crisis intervention, stress management, mental health, trauma, resilience and addiction. This is a Full-time 40 hours per week with salary of $63,000- $73,000 depending on education and experiences. Essential Functions: Behavioral Health: - Conduct assessments, including psycho-social, of admitted clients to determine the client’s need of mental health and or trauma treatment and make referrals for on-going psychiatric treatment as appropriate. - Monitor client’s compliance with psychiatric treatment plans through consultation and coordination with client’s psychiatric service provider. - Develop, monitor and update, individualized service plan goals for clients identified as dually diagnosed. - Provide individual, group and family counseling sessions to facilitate achievement of cl...
