Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: 7:00am - 7:30pm The schedule includes working a weekend and holiday rotation. POSITION SUMMARY: Operates patient monitoring equipment, provides accurate, continuous surveillance of designated patient parameters, assesses functioning, provides basic troubleshooting of equipment, and collects and stores data. Performs 12 lead EKG: EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Courses in physical science and previous medical/cardiac/EKG training are desirable. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Experience reading monitors or EKGs is strongly preferred. - Successfully completes Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Monitor Technician orientation program or the equivalent. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS: Clinical setting. Exposure class I - Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions.
