Position Summary Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of sterile techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of specialty procedures. Demonstrates competency to operate all specialtyinstruments, supplies, and equipment to at least one tertiary specialty service. Responsibilities: - Responsible for the maintenance of an orderly surgical field and for consistently passing instruments and supplies quickly andefficiently to the surgeon.• Able to anticipate and prioritize the needs of the various steps associated with the procedure.• Takes part in sponge, needle and instruments counts as dictated by the procedure.• Responsible for maintaining the surgical specimen in a manner which identifies and preservesthem for pathology evaluation.• Assistsin ordering and stocking ofspecialty supplies under the direction of management staff and departmental guidelines• In collaboration with a Registered Nurse, serves as a technical subject matter expert for at least one tertiary specialty.• Providesscrub servicesfor major proceduresin at least 2 surgical specialties(independently with high physician satisfacti...
