Summary: Journal Register Offset is looking for a Reel Tender to join our production team! Reel Tenders serve an important role in newspaper production. They focus on loading large paper rolls into newspaper printing presses and discarding spent rolls. No prior work experience is required, we will train you. This position is scheduled Friday night through Tuesday night 5pm to 1am (+/-) . What you will do: Review all layouts for shift productions to ensure knowledge of product name, printing order, and circulation order Check each layout for sizes and weights of paper needed Keep reel room neat and empty trash every shift Cut down all spent cores before the end of each shift Inform lead person of any defective rolls Ensure that reel reports are filled out correctly and completely for each product Keep roll lay-down pad full and make sure paper is removed from warehouse in proper order, oldest to newest Help on press as needed and assigned by lead person Check product folios at roll-up: What you will bring: Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays High school diploma or equivalent is required Must be able to read, speak and write fluently in English in order to communica...
