JOB DESCRIPTION: POSITION TITLE: City Engineer: I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a highly responsible administrative, technical, and supervisory position conducting engineering activities and related projects. Work involves responsibility for the planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating activities of engineering, city planning, building inspections, transportation, property maintenance, and solid waste. Work is performed under minimal direction of the City Manager. Considerable independent judgment and discretion is used in carrying out daily operations. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides consulting services for Waste Water Treatment Plant and Traffic Engineering Department. Prepares plans and specifications for Public Works construction and other City projects. Inspects construction to ensure that Cityspecifications and standards are met. Prepares cost estimates for budget to include Traffic Engineering. Attends and participates in conferences and meetings of department heads and the City Commission as required.
