Job description

Overview The purpose of this job is to provide technical support for IBM z series mainframe, storage, and system software. Encouraged to install, configure, and maintain IBM and/or third-party software and to coordinate and monitor these systems. Able to work independently or as part of a team to support the efficient processing of the mainframe and system software. Responsibilities: - Install, configure, test, implement and maintain z system software - Monitor and tune system and subsystem performance - Configure and support mainframe DASD, tape and other subsystems - Provide break-fix support using troubleshooting skills for on-call support - Analyze and provide solutions to issues - Facilitate usage of system software by Computer Operations, Application Support and others - Define and Allocate system resources - Perform additional duties as assigned.
