Manager of Construction and Inspection Services

Job description

The purpose of this classification is to manage the operations, staff, and resources of the construction and inspection services division. This classification plans, directs and oversees construction engineering, inspection and land surveying functions. Work involves directing operations to ensure the safe, timely and cost effective construction management; supervising engineers, inspectors and survey groups; providing expertise on construction engineering design and management issues; and performing administrative work for assigned programs and services. Works under the general direction of the Director of Engineering Manages the construction and inspection services division; establishes objectives and operational plans for construction engineering, inspection and land surveying programs; establishes work plans, priorities and assignments; sets performance goals and objectives; develops operating policies; and approves operating procedures.
