Job description

The Con Edison Law Department, Practice Operations, Litigation Center of Excellence is seeking a Staff Investigator who will investigate legal matters involving the Company and ensure that all matters are handled in a manner consistent with applicable law and the Companys values, missions and goals. Core Responsibilities: - Investigate legal matters involving the Company by interviewing witnesses, gathering and analyzing records, conducting site inspections, documenting conditions, and securing relevant evidence. Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial, assess Company liability and exposure, and support attorneys by providing welldocumented investigative findings, identifying strengths and weaknesses matters, assisting with case strategy development, and contributing to informed decisions regarding defense posture, settlement evaluation, or trial/hearing resolution to ensure matters are handled fairly and equitably. - Review and analyze medical and hospital records to assess alleged injuries, causation, and damages; assist in identifying and coordinating appropriate medical specialists or experts; and collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to prepare medical evidence and tes...
