Access Control Technician (Entry Level)

Job description

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing basic craftsmanship of access controls as an apprentice level technician. Schedule: 7:45am-4:15pm Monday thru Friday. This shop is on-call, so the ideal candidate must have the flexibility to come in as needed. EDUCATION: LICENSE: - Installs, maintains, and serves access control hardware and equipment. - Performs semi-skilled tasks such as disassembling mechanical or electrical locking devices, running low voltage wire, replacing worn or damaged parts and using control keys to remove and replace lock cylinders. - Operates a key duplicator. - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Demonstrated working knowledge in the maintenance, repair and operation of electrical and mechanical security systems. - Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals. - Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly. - A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner. - High school diploma or GED is required. - Texas d...
