Reconstruction Materials Coordinator

Job description

Job Summary The Reconstruction (Construction) Materials Coordinator supports reconstruction operations by owning the materials lifecycle—from estimating review and customer selections through purchasing, inventory control, and job-site delivery. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Director, vendors, field crews, subcontractors, and customers to ensure the right materials are approved, ordered, staged, and available when needed so projects stay on schedule and on budget. Responsibilities: ◦ Source, order, and manage materials needed for active and upcoming reconstruction/restoration projects. ◦ Solicit, maintain, and strengthen vendor/supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and lead times when appropriate. ◦ Track purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, and coordinate staging based on project schedules. ◦ Monitor material costs and report potential cost overruns/variances to the Project Manager (and Director as needed) before purchases are made so change orders can be addressed as needed. ◦ Maintain accurate inventory records across the warehouse and job sites; conduct cycle counts and audits to prevent shortages or overstock. ◦ Maintain organized storage and sta...
