Job Title: Medication Aide Department: Resident Care Date Revised: July 2024 Reports To: Resident Care Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Code: 7108 Harbor; 7013 Trad Job Summary: Medication Aides assists with approved medications under the supervision of a nurse and within the scope of state requirements. The Medication-Aide may also serve as the Lead Resident Care Assistant and fulfill that role’s duties and responsibilities accordingly. Principal Duties/Responsibilities: ▪ Understands the ethical and legal responsibilities inherent in the assistance with medication management. ▪ Reviews med book/eMAR to ensure that medication management has been completed and documented per state regulations and Benchmark standards. ▪ Reviews Activity of Daily Living (ADL) documentation for signatures and completion of care. Reviews and completes 72-hour log. ▪ Acts as lead in an emergency (e.g., elopement, fire, disaster, etc.) ▪ Administers/assists with medications as allowed by State Regulations. ▪ Charts medications administered/assisted and immediately report to the nurse those medications not administered/assisted for any reason. ▪ Has knowledge and understanding of the importance of pro...
