They prepare patients for examination, assist in procedures as appropriate and perform a variety of patient care tasks under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. Duties range widely from administrative to clinical. Essential Functions: Maintaining patient privacy and adhering to HIPAA guidelines at all times. Using computer applications- performing any data entry tasks to document patient demographics, records or note to file. Documenting patients' medical information, including medical history and review of symptoms within EHR of patients chart. Managing office telephone system, including answering calls and returning messages. Scheduling patient appointments and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments when necessary.
