Description More and more we see municipalities rely on accurate GIS data to manage assets like sidewalks, roadways, and stormwater infrastructure. Supporting these inventories through field data collection, spatial analysis, and mapping is a growing service at BETA Group, Inc. We are seeking a GIS Intern to support municipal transportation projects by assisting with data collection, GIS data development, and map production. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside engineers, planners, and scientists, gain real-world GIS experience, and build valuable skills through cross-training and mentorship. Responsibilities: Preferred location is BETA’s Hartford, CT office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. - Create eye-catching maps, graphics, and visualizations used in real client projects - Analyze spatial data to support transportation, environmental, water, and land development projects - Assist with building and maintaining GIS databases and web maps - Support field data collection and integrate data into GIS platforms - Perform geoprocessing and basic spatial analysis - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and learn how GIS fits int...
