City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Diabetes Care and Education Specialist- Registered Dietitian Full-Time - Day Hours: Overview: Plans and coordinates education and care of patients/persons with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies and Sentara subsidiaries. Provides staff education, educates/counsels patients to promote wellness and prevention of complications in persons with diabetes. Serves as a clinical resource person for the clinical staff serving the inpatient and/or outpatient population. Education: Bachelor's Level Degree: If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics. Certification/Licensure: Registered Dietitian: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 2.5 years of hire. .
