Job description

Field Support personnel are critical members of the Social Work Field Team which facilitate and administer the field education (internship) enrollment experience for Social Work students and contribute to the success of the department in equipping students for the profession. Field Support personnel are to be professional in all aspects of the job, including but not limited to, dress, demeanor, and interaction. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Field Support personnel conduct student interviews to assess student needs and interests, and exercise discretion in matching students with quality field placements. They coordinate with the Gate team to assess student readiness for field and specific strengths and areas for improvement to consider in arranging placements. They ensure the correct implementation of department policies and practices. In this process, they review and approve placement proposals and accompanying documentation, facilitate inter- and intra-departmental communication about each proposal, manage student and department concerns, and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
