Department: Machine Shop Reports To: Department Manager: Physical Demand Level: Medium to Heavy SUMMARY: The Tool Maker II is responsible for independently manufacturing, repairing, modifying, and maintaining precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in production operations. This position requires advanced machining skills, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to work with close tolerances. The Tool Maker II also supports continuous improvement by recommending design enhancements and ensuring tooling meets quality and production requirements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role does not have supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manufacture precision tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges using manual and CNC machining equipment. - Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop tools. - Work with steel, aluminum, plastics, and specialty alloys. - Inspect machining work to ensure accuracy within specified tolerances. - Disassemble, repair, and rebuild worn or damaged tools and dies. - Sharpen cutting tools, replace components, and adjust tooling to meet performance standards. - Troubleshoot tooling issues affect...
