Description The Department of Classics and Letters in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Classical Archaeology. Preference will be given to candidates whose primary focus is the archaeology of the ancient Greek world, from the Bronze Age to late antiquity. Candidates with interests in Archaeological Science (e.g., Paleoclimatology, Bioarchaeology/Zooarchaeology, Materials Analysis, Digital Technologies) are also encouraged to consider applying. The typical teaching load is two courses per semester. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2026. We seek exceptional junior scholars who augment or complement the present strength and breadth of our community at OU. Applications are especially welcome from candidates who have demonstrated a capacity for innovative research and cross-disciplinary thinking in the archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean.
