When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. Certified Tumor Registrar: Job Description: The Tumor Registrar will maintain an accredited cancer program as set forth by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The Registrar abstracts medical record data into the Cancer Registry data base as required Standard for Oncology Registry Entry (STORE) coding instructions: American Joint Committee on Cancer ( AJCC ) cancer staging manual, International Classification of Diseases for Oncology ( ICD -0) data collection of primary central nervous system tumors, and the data collection of primary central nervous system tumors- Abstracting and coding for the Hematopoietic diseases. Roles and Responsibilities: Perform case finding activities, abstract eligible cases, and perform follow-up activities. Creates special reports as requested: Attend educational seminars, etc., in order to maintain certification status. Use appropriate tools to identify and abstract cases. Resolves edit discrepancies as identified by Cancer Registry data base validation checks. Demonstrates competence in cases abstraction. Reviews EMR for...
