ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Accountable to the licensed nurses, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager and/or Orthopedic Service Line Director. - Demonstrates and promotes compliance to infection control, legal, and safety standards. - Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships. - Organizes and prioritizes care considering patient needs and preferences, module activities, and other commitments. - Performs basic patient care activities in a timely manner according to hospital policy and procedures including taking vital signs, assisting with meals, enemas, catheter care, hygiene measures, positioning/moving patients, specimen collection, application of restraints and treatments/tasks. - Provides care with sensitivity to the cultural needs of patients and with regard to their rights and privacy. - Demonstrates knowledge of the current condition of the patient and recognizes situations needing nursing supervision. - Answers call lights in a timely manner. - Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Performan...
