Job description

Purpose/Description The Deputy Director of the Wayne County Department of Health, Human and Veteran Services (HHVS) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Department Director and providing strategic and operational oversight of multiple divisions within the department. This position is responsible for ensuring alignment with departmental goals, driving performance, and supporting cross-divisional coordination. Key responsibilities include translating the Director’s goals and objectives into actionable strategies for each division, monitoring and supporting programmatic and fiscal performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The Deputy Director also plays a lead role in overseeing internal administrative operations, cross-functional initiatives, and performance improvement efforts across HHVS.
