Job description

Position Function: To assist the podiatrist with farrier services. Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year. Salary Grade : UC: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Area of Specialization: Farrier Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the podiatrist with farrier services for client owned and CVM owned horses, donkeys, and mules. Routine trimming and maintaining the hoof care of all CVM owned horses will be a responsibility of this position. Routing hoof trimming and trimming to prepare for shoeing. Shoeing of livestock when directed by the faculty. Restrain animals for hoof care. Cleaning and organization of the farrier ship, inventory, ordering, pulling shoes and preparing feet for diagnostic imaging, and assisting with documentation for medical records and billing.
