Job Description Building Construction in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech is seeking applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Building Construction with expertise in building systems, building physics, and/or building performance. The position is effective August 2026. We are seeking candidates motivated to contribute to a collegial, interdisciplinary community with a strong tradition of both fundamental and applied research that aligns with recent initiatives at Virginia Tech, including a campus-wide, multi-disciplinary focus on Industrialized Construction as well as a focus on Smart Construction. Such initiatives endorse a wide range of research foci with relevance for the built environment, including but not limited to the following: ● Building system(s) integration, including system design, construction, and commissioning methods ● Building physics modeling, simulation, and in-situ assessment ● Building performance evaluations of embodied-carbon, energy performance, durability, and life-cycle analysis ● Human interactions with the built environment, including Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and Human-building Interaction (HBI) Th...
