JOB TITLE: Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Part-Time Hours: M-F 8:00 am-12:00 pm Full-Time Hours: M-F 8:00 am-12:00 pm at WES Care. Outpatient M-F 1:00 pm-4:30 pm GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a professional who demonstrates a commitment in the assessment and management of mental health patients. They make independent and collaborative judgments in regards to the assessment, diagnosis and management of treatment for patients with psychiatric disorders, medical-mental conditions and substance abuse issues. He or she is expected to apply nursing and behavioral health policies when rendering care and providing health teaching to patients and families. ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS: - Evaluates the needs of patients. - Develops a treatment plan. - Provides day to day patient management. - Provides information to psychiatrists on the condition of the patient. - Provides medication to patients. - Educates patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments. - May conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient’s primary healthcare provider. - Interacts with multidisciplinary team in a collegial manner.
