AMB: Diabetes Treatment Center- Part-Time, Day Shift Job Summary: The Educator-Diabetes is a Registered Nurse (RN) that serves as a clinical expert and demonstrates advanced knowledge of pre-diabetes, type1, type 2 and secondary diabetes treatment and management. Provides patient-centered whole person care and education for inpatients admitted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, East Campus Hospital and Surgical Hospital and also for outpatients served at the Diabetes Treatment Center. Works closely with the Director and Medical Director to acquire and maintain American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognition for outpatient diabetes education program and Diabetes Prevention Program recognized by the Centers for Disease Control. Advances the DTC as a center of excellence and resource providing cutting-edge diabetes prevention and care to the internal and external community of healthcare providers and patients. Performs duties within RN scope of practice and in accordance with policies, procedures, standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
