Position Summary: Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessional members of the Residence Life staff selected based on leadership, character, and the ability to relate well with others. Reporting to a Professional Residence Life Staff Member, RAs are responsible for the safety, security, and community development of summer residents. RAs are expected to be accountable and mature individuals who exert a positive influence on the summer residents. Qualifications: - Must have 1 semester of residence hall living experience at SMC by the beginning of the employment period. - Must be in good standing with the College (academic, financial, and community standards) at the time of application and continue in good standing for the duration of employment. - Must have a minimum cumulative and semester 2.50 GPA at the time of application. Safety: Administrator: - RAs will respond to emergency and non-emergency situations, and contact the appropriate staff for assistance as necessary and as directed. - RAs will participate equitably in a rotational on-call schedule (8pm-6 am).In addition, staff are expected to share on-call responsibilities over holidays (Father’s Day, Fourth of July, etc.) - RA...
