- Advance sustainable seaweed science through impactful research, teaching and industry collaboration - Lead applied seaweed biology research shaping blue economy and marine conservation outcomes globally - Full time, ongoing role based in Hobart About the opportunity: The Lecturer in Seaweed Biologist will join the Centre for Ecology and Biodiversity at IMAS, leading a cross-cutting program focused on the biology, ecology and sustainable production of seaweed. Working within UTAS’s place-based, sustainability mission, the role applies seaweed biology and cultivation knowledge to inform blue economy and conservation decisions for Tasmania, Australia and globally. The appointee will have a strong research track record, experience in seaweed biology (life-cycles and development), physiology, and cultivation, demonstrated teaching and HDR supervision capability, and excellent collaborative and communication skills with partners including government, industry and Aboriginal communities.
