Job Title Marine Maintenance Technician Agency: Texas A&M University at Galveston Department: MESSO: Proposed Minimum Salary: $26.34 hourly Job Location: Galveston, Texas Job Type: Staff Job Description: Job Description Summary: The Marine Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled, multi-systems “jack-of-all-trades” individual responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a diverse fleet of marine vessels and support equipment. While marine engine knowledge is valuable, this role primarily focuses on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of onboard and support systems — including electrical, electronic, HVAC, plumbing, pumping, mechanical, hydraulic, trailer, and auxiliary equipment systems. Under general supervision, this position ensures all vessels and related equipment remain safe, reliable, operationally ready, and well-maintained in appearance and function. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, outboard and inboard vessels, trailers, fleet vehicles, golf carts, pumps, and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
