Job Summary The Perfusionist is responsible for providing support, treatment, measurement, or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory systems. This role operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during medical situations where it is necessary to support or replace the patient's cardiopulmonary or circulatory function. In collaboration with physicians, the Perfusionist selects appropriate equipment and techniques and ensures proper management of physiological functions by monitoring necessary variables. The role may also involve administrative duties, including managing supplies, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
