Description The School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University continually seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach a variety of studio courses. This is an open call for part-time adjunct instructors in the area of Sculpture, Installation, and Site Work (SIS). This area focuses on object making and fabrication, teaching a range of techniques in wood, metals, mold making, soft sculpture, ceramics / clay, as well as mixed media and site-specific installation. This area also teaches interactive object making, physical computing, and various forms of digital fabrication, including 3D printing and the uses of various CNC machines. Examples of courses for which we seek instructors include foundation-, intermediate-, and advanced-level courses in wood, metals, mold making and casting, soft sculpture, physical computing, digital fabrication, mixed media, and installation. Studio classes typically meet for three hours a day, two days a week, over a 14-week semester. Studio courses have an average enrollment of 15 students per class.
