Senior Budget Officer

Job description

Purpose of the Position: The Senior Budget Officer reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and serves as a subject matter expert and key contact within the Budget Office. This role is responsible for overseeing budget changes, delivering training, managing Banner Finance security, and preparing monthly budget statements and fund balance reports. The selected candidate may be appointed at the Senior Budget Officer level or the position may be underfilled as a Budget Officer II, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and how they meet the minimum requirements for each role. Appointment at the Senior Budget Officer level requires the ability to quickly acclimate to the position, work with a high degree of independence, and effectively apply professional experience and expertise to evaluate and enhance processes.
