Overview POSITION PURPOSE: Works collaboratively with teachers to support student social-emotional learning skills. Promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs) - Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local policies and procedures regarding counseling; - Considerable knowledge of social-emotional learning best practices; - Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Google Apps; - Excellent organizational skills; - Effective time management skills; - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, and the public.
