Job description

The purpose of this position is to ensure that fleet vehicles and equipment is maintained and repaired in a safe, reliable, economical and serviceable manner. This is a Union position focused on basic preventive and corrective maintenance on company fleet vehicles and equipment. Job Responsibilities: Functional Expertise: Performs general fleet facility/housekeeping, vehicle equipment cleaning and washing activities and other duties as assigned. - Performs preventive maintenance oil changes and inspections in accordance with defined fleet procedures and minor electrical repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment. - Performs fueling and checking of fluids (as needed) on all fleet vehicles and equipment in accordance with defined fleet procedures, company safety guidelines and state and federal regulations. - Maintains fleet garage tire inventory; and performs tire repairs/changes; and excavating chain adjustments and related bullet replacements to ensure fleet vehicles and equipment are operating in a safe and reliable manner. - Transports fleet vehicles and equipment between fleet service, third party establishments and operating areas.
