Propulsion Functional Engineer

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. As a Propulsion Functional Engineer, you will be the bridge between theoretical design and physical hardware and between the engine(s) and the system. You are responsible for defining the functional architecture of the propulsion system, ensuring that fluidic subsystems operate correctly together to meet mission requirements. You will own the system's behaviour from the ground operations to the recovery or disposal Key Responsibilities: As a Propulsion Functional Engineer, your responsibilities will include: System Architecture Contribute to the evaluation and preliminary optimization of various propulsion system concepts in terms of performance, mass operation, cost and reliability/safety Contribute to architecture trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments and support component selection (including make-or-buy process) Performance Modeling: Develop and maintain functional performance models of propulsive systems using simulation fr...
