Lyon County is seeking a GIS Tech This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits including paid time off and health/dental/vision insurance. Salary begins at $18.50 per hour, however, is dependent on experience. The GIS Tech is responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the GIS division working closely with the Lyon County Appraiser's Office and the Lyon County Planning & Zoning Department. This position would be responsible for maintaining and updating, both manually and digitally, all files and records relating to property ownership, overlays, GIS coverages and map work cards. Provide assistance to the County Appraiser and appraisal personnel in the daily performance of their duties as needed. Deliver mapping support and assistance for other county departments, legal agencies, and property owners. The position also assists the Planning/Zoning/Flood Plain Management Director in duties as needed. A background in GIS is not required, but is preferred, along with the ability to read and interpret deeds and legal descriptions. A familiarity with maps and mapping systems such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ESRI products, and DASC is also preferred, but a...
