Job DetailsJob Location: Rock Springs, ARPosition Type: AmeriCorpsJob Category: GISThe Great Basin Institute, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, is hiring one (1) Cadastral Survey Cartography Technician in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Principal Assistant to the Party Chief: AmeriCorps member will assist the Cadastral land surveyor in all phases of survey projects: specifically, the resurvey of the Wyoming-Utah state line and or the Sweeney Ranch double corner investigation and resurvey. As a trainee the member will be required to function as assistant to the land surveyor after an intensive daily training program. The selected candidate will be required to: Operate survey equipment, Manage data, Conduct record research Represent the bureau when encountering members of the public in the field, Drive a 4-wheel drive truck to and from the job site, and a UTV in the field (experience is not expected), Can make sensible, informed decisions daily, Analyze records logically, Interact (general demeanor) with peers and members of the public (Which will be evaluated throughout this project), and On occasion, the candidate may be required to operate autonomously under supervision of...
