The Referral and Authorization Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers alike. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and pre-certification to guarantee that each patient’s information and authorizations are accurate before their appointment. Acting as a key liaison between patients, primary care offices, and insurance companies, this role ensures every visit begins with confidence and clarity. Key Responsibilities: Verify patient benefits and obtain necessary referrals, authorizations, and precertifications for all ambulatory visits, procedures, injections, and radiology services. Utilize web-based systems to confirm real-time insurance eligibility and update patient demographic and coverage details as needed. Prepare and maintain patient charts daily to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process. Create and manage referrals, faxing forms to providers and insurance companies promptly.
