Job description

PRN (As Needed) Shift: Day/Evenings (7:30 am - 9:00 pm) General Summary: Performs activities related to transportation of patients. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request Essential Functions: - Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed. - Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts. - Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Common Expectations: - Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. - Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings. - Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. - Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation...
