Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW: Perform all maintenance activities and tasks in a fixed plant, including shop repairs, field preventive and predictive maintenance on pumps, pipes, and structural repairs. Working with varies types of chemicals and understanding proper PPE. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Troubleshooting Pump systems including horizontal and vertical pumps. - Repair of HDPE pipe systems including cutting and fusion - Diagnose of valving and limitations of systems. - Weld with multiple types of materials including stainless and mild steels. - Diagnose and repair construction type plumbing, including water and sewage systems. - Ability to rebuild small pumps including Flowserve pumps, 2-inch diaphragm pumps and Allison Chalmers - Correctly align coupling systems. - Properly communicate the status of his assigned job with the relieving shift mechanics and shop supervisors. - Operate and maintain diagnostic tools and alignment units. - Ability to operate mine equipment such as Boom trucks, forklifts, man-baskets, etc. - Must understand Asarco environmental policies; understand and practice all safety procedures for work environment and demonstrate effective communication skills. - Must have b...
