Waterfront Director at Camp Lowe (Seasonal)

Description Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Waterfront Director will be expected to supervise the waterfront at Camp Lowe--being responsible for the waterfront safety and overall supervision of teaching of YMCA swimming lessons, guarding of free swimming, and the leading of boating. This is a summer seasonal position with a start date of June 29th going through August 28th. Shift will begin at 7:00am and end at 5:30pm Monday-Friday; occasional evenings for staff meetings & weekends as necessary for special events. Job Responsibilities: The Waterfront Director must fulfill all lifeguard duties/expectations which include the following: Qualifications : . - Follow Board of Health regulations for running a swim area - Plan and implement daily lessons and free swims. - Schedule lifeguard shifts and supervisor lifeguards to ensure that all policies are being followed. - Maintains active surveillance of the waterfront area and ensure the safer of campers and staff at the waterfront area. - Check the waterfront for hazardous conditions when arriving. - Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available when needed. - Remains calm and objective when und...
