Field Machinist

Job description

Description Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following: - Determine work procedures, machine tools, equipment, and attachments to be used for - assigned work - Use of precision measuring instruments and equipment such as Vernier calipers, height - gauges, inside, outside, and depth micrometers, parallels, gage blocks, dial indicators, - surface gages to attain accurate dimensions and maintain tolerances - Set up/operate machines, including but not limited to pipe cutting, flange facing, lathes, - mills, drills, grinders, saws, boring equipment, etc. - Performs field machining services on client work sites performing any of the following duties: - Pipe cutting and beveling - Flange resurfacing - Drilling and tapping - Milling motor or pump bases - Line boring - Key-way cutting - Shaft turning - Metal disintegration bolt removal - Travel Requirements: 0% - 60% - Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere - Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel - Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels - Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by...
